PRIZE DRAW RULES

Effective: 24 November 2025

Please read these rules carefully. They are a contract between you and us. If you enter, you agree to them.

No purchase, payment or donation is needed to enter or win. Every valid entry has an equal chance of winning.

1. Who we are

Promoter: Glad Technologies Limited (“Glad”)
Company Registration Number: 14924051
Registered address: 85 Great Portland Street First Floor London W1W 7LT
VAT Number: GB474258077

We run prize draws to accelerate the cleanup of legacy greenhouse gases.

2. Where the prize draws live

You can enter at gladclimate.com (our “site”) and any other channel we make available from time to time. We call these the Platforms.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 and a legal resident of the United Kingdom. You cannot enter if you are:

  • An employee, officer or director of Glad or any company under common control with Glad.

  • An employee, officer or director of a third party engaged to help administer a draw where their contract prohibits entry.

  • An immediate family member of, or living in the same household as, any of the people above.

  • An employee, officer or director of a greenhouse gas removal partner that a particular draw supports.

  • We may ask for ID to confirm eligibility.

4. How prizes unlock

Each prize draw is linked to a season-specific climate impact milestone. When the community for that season reaches its published milestone, the prize unlocks and a draw is triggered. The prize value for that season is fixed and does not change, regardless of how long it takes to reach the milestone.

This promotion does not have a fixed closing date.

For each season, the prize draw will take place when the community reaches the published climate milestone for that season. The milestone is the fixed trigger, not a calendar date.

Before a season opens, we publish:

  • the climate impact milestone for that season (for example: Season 4 → 250,000kg)

  • the fixed cash prize linked to that milestone (for example: Season 4 → £10,000)

Each season has a clearly published start date.

If the milestone for a season is not reached within 3 months of that start date, the draw date for that season will be automatically extended by up to 3 additional months, as set out in Section 13D.

We keep the official record of all milestones, prize values and entry timings for each season.

5. How to enter

A. Paid method of entry

You can take part by buying entries. Entries can be purchased through Single Purchase bundles or earned monthly through a Membership Plan.

To buy entries, visit the Prize Draw page, choose your bundle or plan, add your details and pay. Once payment is confirmed, your entries are allocated automatically and entered into the active Prize Draw for that season.

B. Free postal entry

You can enter any Prize Draw for free by post. Each postcard or envelope counts as one entry. Postal entries are treated exactly the same as paid entries - every valid entry has an equal chance of winning. If a postal entry wins a prize there will be no further purchase or payment necessary to be notified of the win or to receive the prize.

What to send
Clearly write or type your full legal name, residential address (no PO boxes), city, postcode, email and phone number on a sheet of paper or postcard. All information is compulsory.

Where to send
FAO: Prize Draw Administrator
Glad Technologies Limited
85 Great Portland Street
First Floor
London
W1W 7LT

Each postcard or envelope counts as one entry. You may send as many postal entries as you like, but each entry must be in its own piece of mail.

When your entry counts
The entry date is the date we process your postcard, not the date you post it.
We process postal entries within 1 working day of receiving them.

Working days are Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays.

When your postal entry is processed, the entry is added to:

  • The active Cash Prize Draw for that season, and

  • Any Bonus Prize Draws running during that season (see Section 13)

Entries are not allocated retrospectively to draws that have already been completed at the point of processing.

Example (for illustration purposes only)

  • Season 5 starts on 1 January 2026.

  • You post a postcard on 5 January 2026.

  • We receive it on 7 January 2026 and process it on 8 January 2026.

  • Your entry is added to the Season 5 Cash Prize Draw and any Season 5 Bonus Draws that are still open on 8 January.

Record keeping
We maintain detailed logs of every postal entry received and processed, including the date of receipt, the processing date and the entry ID assigned.

If your entry is incomplete or unclear, it will not be valid and we may not be able to contact you. You will not be notified if your entry is invalid.

We process postal entries strictly in the order they are received, ensuring they are added to the draw fairly and in sequence.

5C. Referral Entry Rewards

Overview
We offer referral rewards to encourage more people to take part in climate cleanup.

Referral rewards provide additional free entries into the active Prize Draw for that season.

These entries are optional, free of charge and treated exactly the same as any other valid entry.

Who can take part
All eligible participants may use the referral system, including:

Members, Entrants who buy a bundle of entries, Postal entrants

Everyone receives a unique referral code once they have created a Glad account or we have processed their first valid postal entry.

When referral rewards are earned
Referral rewards are only earned when the person using your referral code becomes a paying participant. This means they must:

  • purchase a Single Purchase bundle, or

  • join a Membership Plan.

Referrals of postal entrants do not generate referral rewards.

How referral rewards work
When someone uses your referral code to join Glad:

  • You receive 20 free referral entries

  • The referred person receives 10 free welcome entries

Referral entries are allocated automatically once the referred person has completed a valid entry using your referral code.

Allocation of referral entries
Referral entries:

  • are added to the active Seasonal Prize Draw for that season

  • are also included in any Bonus Prize Draws running in that season

  • have the same chance of winning as any other entry

  • are recorded in the same audit log as other entries

Referral entries are not retroactively allocated to draws that have already closed.

No payment required
Referral entries are free.

You do not need to make a purchase to earn or use referral entries.

Limits and fairness
There is no maximum number of referrals you can make, but:

  • You may not refer yourself

  • You may not create multiple accounts

  • You may not use bots, automation or fabricated identities

We may void referral entries and disqualify participants if we detect fraud, in line with Section 12.

Postal entrants
To support free-route equivalence, postal entrants may use referral codes.:

  • A referral code is created for each postal entrant when we process their first valid postal entry

  • We email their referral code to the address provided on the postcard

  • Postal entrants may refer others in exactly the same way as Members or paid Entrants

  • Referral rewards are earned only if the referred person becomes a paying participant

Misuse
We may refuse referral entries or suspend referral activity if we believe someone is:

  • attempting to game the system

  • sending spam or unsolicited mass referrals

  • using fraudulent or duplicate data

This follows our general powers in Section 12 (Disqualification) and Section 14 (Keeping things fair).

6. Fair entry and limits

Entries must be accurate and complete. Illegible, incomplete or corrupted entries are void.

Proof of posting or submitting is not proof of receipt.

There is no maximum number of entries per person. Referral Entry Rewards (see Section 5C) may increase the number of entries you hold. These referral entries are free of charge and treated the same as all other valid entries.

Do not use multiple identities.

We may void entries and disqualify you if you do.

Do not use bots or automated systems.

We will void those entries and may disqualify you.

By entering, you agree we can contact you about the draw in line with our Privacy Policy.

7. How entries relate to climate cleanup

Glad exists to fix climate change by cleaning up legacy greenhouse gases. When you buy entries, you help fund that work.

For every pound we receive:

  • 60% goes to the Climate Pot funding independently verified greenhouse gas removal.

  • 20% goes to the Prize Pot.

  • 20% covers our running costs.

Free postal entries are always available and have the same chance of winning.

8. Selecting the winner

Winners are chosen using a computer process that produces verifiably random results. Each eligible entry is assigned a unique ID and a cryptographically secure random number generator is used to select the winner. The system we use meets the requirements of CAP Code Clause 8.24.

We publish the winning entry code on our Platforms after each draw.

Your odds depend on the total number of eligible entries.

9. Contacting the winner

We email and call the potential winner using the details provided on entry. A valid phone number is compulsory.
You must reply within 7 working days. If you do not respond in time we may disqualify you and draw another potential winner. Winners will receive their prize within 7 working days of their win being confirmed.

10. Verifying the winner

You only become the winner once we confirm you meet these rules.

We may ask for reasonable documents.

You must accept the prize within the timeframe we set.

Our decisions are final unless the law states otherwise.

11. Publicity and winner lists

We may publicise that a prize draw has taken place and confirm that a winning entry was selected.

We will only share limited winner information, such as the winners first name and county, and only where this is reasonable and does not identify you in full. We will never publish your full address or contact details.

You do not have to take part in publicity. You can object at any time by emailing help@gladclimate.com. If you object, we will not use your details in any public announcement.

If you object, we may still need to share minimal information with regulators if they request it. This may include your full name and your entry details, but only for regulatory checks.

You can request confirmation of past winners by emailing help@gladclimate.com after a prize announcement. Any information we share will follow the same privacy safeguards.

12. When we may disqualify

We may refuse a prize and/or disqualify you if you:

  • Do not meet the eligibility rules

  • Break these rules or our site terms

  • Provide invalid contact details or do not respond in time

  • Cannot complete ID checks within 7 working days

  • Provide false information

  • Commit fraud or act abusively towards our team

  • Cannot accept the prize in time

If we disqualify a potential winner we will draw an alternate winner.

13. Prizes

A. Cash Prizes

The cash prize for each season is shown on the Prize Draw page.

Prizes are awarded as described.

You cannot transfer, sell or swap a prize.

B. Prize substitution

If the advertised prize becomes unavailable due to circumstances outside our control, we may substitute it with a prize of equal or higher value, including a cash alternative.

This applies only where the advertised prize cannot reasonably be provided for reasons unrelated to milestone progress.

This substitution right does not apply where a prize continues under the Rolling Timeline Model set out in Section 13D.

C. Bonus Prize Draws

From time to time we run additional Bonus Prize Draws. These draws are open to:

  • Glad members

  • Anyone who purchases entries

  • Anyone who submits valid free postal entries

  • Bonus Prizes unlock at specific climate impact milestones, just like the main seasonal prize.

  • Any entries you hold for that season (paid or free) are included automatically.

  • Bonus Prize information for each season is published on the Prize Draw page.

D. Milestones not reached (Rolling Timeline Model)

Each season has its own published climate impact milestone and fixed prize value. The prize does not change based on participation levels or the time taken to reach the milestone.

If the published milestone for a season is not reached within 3 months of that season’s start date, the draw date for that season will be automatically extended by up to 3 additional months. We will contact all entrants and members to provide an update on progress.

If the milestone is still not reached within 6 months of the season’s start date, we will contact all entrants and offer them a choice:

  • Remain in the prize draw for that season, which will continue until the milestone is reached and the fixed prize is awarded, or

  • Request a full refund of their paid entries for that season. Entrants will have 7 days to make their choice.

Entrants who choose to remain in the draw keep all their entries for that season, and the prize remains the full, fixed amount published at the start of that season.

If a significant proportion of entrants request a refund, we may conduct an operational review to ensure the draw can continue fairly for those who remain. Any changes will follow Section 14 (Keeping things fair) and will not disadvantage remaining participants.

For the avoidance of doubt:

  • The value of the prize for any season is never reduced or altered due to milestone progress.

  • The rolling timeline and refund mechanism are part of the original terms and are not considered changes under CAP Code Rule 8.15.1.

  • The postponement of the draw to reach the milestone does not affect the equal chance of winning for any valid entry.

14. Keeping things fair

We will only cancel, suspend or change a draw in exceptional circumstances where it would be impossible or unsafe to continue without doing so. Examples include confirmed fraud, major system failure or a significant external event that makes the draw unworkable.

We will not make changes that disadvantage participants.

Any lawful attempt to damage our Platforms or undermine a draw may lead to legal action.

15. Refunds and cooling-off

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have a 14-day cooling-off period for distance purchases.

Paid entries
You may cancel and receive a full refund for purchased entries within 14 days of purchase, even if your entries have already been allocated to an active draw. If you request a refund within this period, we will remove your paid entries from that season’s draw and return your payment in full.

Refunds after the 14-day cooling-off period are only available in the circumstances set out in Section 13D (Milestones Not Reached).

Mistaken purchases
If you make an honest mistake (for example, a duplicate purchase), email help@gladclimate.com within 4 hours. If your entries have not yet been allocated, we will do our best to resolve it as a one-time goodwill gesture.

Free postal entries
Postal entries cannot be returned but carry no cost.

16. Our liability to you

We do not limit or exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or where the law does not allow it.

If we breach these rules, we are responsible only for foreseeable losses.

Our total liability is capped at £100.

If your entry is lost or corrupted, your only remedy is another entry.

17. Law and courts

These rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you can rely on mandatory local consumer protections.

18. Complaints and dispute resolution

If you have a complaint, please follow our Complaint Handling Policy. You can also email help@gladclimate.com.

We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and aim to provide a full response within 30 days.

If we cannot resolve the issue within that time, we will invite you to independent Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) with an appropriate UK mediation provider.

Using ADR does not affect your right to go to court.

19. Privacy

We use your personal information as set out in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
