This week on Glad Tidings, Ben met Richard West from Meaningful Planet at Camley Street Wildlife Centre in King’s Cross - a hidden pocket of nature in the heart of London.
Meaningful Planet isn’t your average mobile network. It’s built on the idea that business can be both fair to people and good for the planet. Customers get affordable, reliable mobile deals powered by EE, the UK’s fastest network. But here’s the twist: 10% of every bill goes directly to restoring wildlife across the UK.
That money supports projects run by Wildlife Trusts –- places like Camley Street, where you can actually see the difference being made. As Richard puts it, “We want people to feel, smell, touch, and see the impact they’re having.”
It’s a bold model. Giving away 10% of revenue isn’t easy for any business, especially a new one. But Meaningful Planet has found a way to make it work by staying lean, negotiating smartly, and keeping their focus clear: no compromise on quality, and no empty promises.
That shared mindset made them one of Glad’s first brand partners. Meaningful Planet members already get 25% off their mobile plans for life - an offer that, for many, covers their Glad membership fee entirely.
As the conversation turned to what’s next, Richard spoke about education and awareness. “We need to help people understand the impact of their everyday choices,” he said. “If comparison sites showed which companies were most sustainable, people could choose differently.”
The goal for 2026? More community involvement, smarter apps, and a closer connection between customers and the wildlife they’re helping to restore.
In a world of overpromises, it’s refreshing to see a company like Meaningful Planet quietly proving that business really can be meaningful.
