Impact Totalizer
In our very first season, Glad Climate Club members took action to remove:
of legacy greenhouse gas from our atmosphere.
Now that Season 1 has wrapped, it’s time to put your impact to work. We’ve pooled all membership fees, sponsorships, and extra contributions into the Season 1 Climate Pot.
,
All of which will be used to remove legacy greenhouse gas emissions at £0.25 per kg.
Funds Deployed
The Climate Pot is in action! We've already allocated 84% of Season 1’s funds to vetted greenhouse gas removal projects, with the rest on its way. We're making sure every pound delivers maximum impact – and we’ll keep you posted as it happens.
In Season 1, the Glad Community supported these cleanup methods:
Biochar
Biochar is one of the safest, fastest, and most durable ways to remove carbon – and it comes with a bonus. As well as locking away carbon for centuries, it improves soil health, making it a win-win for the planet. Learn more.

Direct Air Capture
Direct Air Capture (DAC) pulls carbon dioxide straight from the air using large fans and chemical reactions. The captured carbon dixoide is then stored underground or reused, offering a powerful solution with a tiny land footprint. Learn more.

Enhanced Rock Weathering
Enhanced Rock Weathering speeds up a natural process that locks away carbon dioxide for good. By spreading crushed rock on farmland, we remove carbon dioxide from the air while improving soil health – a win-win for the planet. Learn more.

Biomass Sinking
Biomass Sinking locks away carbon by sinking plant material into deep, oxygen-free waters. This stops it from decomposing and releasing carbon dioxide back into the air, keeping carbon safely stored for thousands of years. Learn more.

Residual
In Season 1, we generated 21,532kg of greenhouse gas cleanup. We’ve committed 21,000kg, leaving a remainder of 532kg. This happens because we buy removal in whole tonnes. At £0.25 per kg, that’s £133 left over - which we’re rolling into Season 2 to keep the impact going.
How Glad makes money
For Season 1, our commission was 14%. Here’s how it works:
At the start of each Glad season:
We choose the greenhouse gas removal methods and set the mix for the season.
We lock in the price we pay suppliers (the Buy Price).
We add a commission to set the final price for members (the Sell Price).
Our commission varies with costs and exchange rates but never exceeds 20%.
Amplifying the movement
We use the commission to run Glad - building the platform, growing the community, and amplifying the movement. We’ll always be upfront about what we earn and aim to keep improving efficiency over time.
Season 2 is now open!
We’re collecting membership fees, boosts, and contributions from our growing global community.
