Reward the planet

With the business payment card that captures carbon every time you spend - at no cost to you

1% of everything you spend
goes directly to fix climate change

How it works

Every time you buy something with a credit or debit card, the merchant you buy from pays a small fee.

When you pay with Glad, we use those fees to fix climate change on your behalf.

It’s that simple.

The funds generated are deployed against carefully chosen climate action projects, selected based on their impact, additionality, durability, and location.

CLIMATE CHANGE

What can I possibly do?

The scale of the climate change problem is overwhelming.

We believe that by collectively making small climate positive changes we can help to fix the planet. Simple things, like, for example, changing the card you use to pay for things as a business.

Brace yourself, here comes some maths!

Think about how much you spend every month on software, digital advertising, web hosting, equipment and everything else.

Now, add up all of that spend and divide by 100.

That’s the amount you could be channeling towards fixing climate change every month, simply by paying with Glad.

This just needs to exist in the world

FAQs

We've got A's for your Q's

  • Yes. Glad is completely free to use.

So where does the 1% for climate positive initiatives come from?

Every time you spend money on a card the banks and card providers keep a small amount as a fee for making the payment.

We use our part of that fee to put 1% of everything you spend into funding climate action projects.

  • We carefully select projects that we are confident will have a net positive impact on the climate, and our ultimate goal of removing 1 billion tonnes of carbon from the atmosphere by 2050.

The projects we back are selected based on their; measurable impact, additionality, durability and location.

We deliberately back a blend of action projects to increase the impact that businesses in the Glad community will have over the long term.

  • Not yet... we see Glad as complementary to expense management tools, and other payment methods.

The Glad card can be used to pay for pretty much anything you need as a business and is accepted anywhere that takes VISA. It works best to pay for monthly bills like your digital advertising, software subscriptions and web hosting spend. It's a virtual card (less plastic in the world that way).

Glad is not designed to replace your employee expense management tools, or your main bank account.

  • Glad is currently only available for UK registered businesses.

When applying for a Glad card we will need to run checks on your business and one of your Directors to check for eligibility.

These checks are quick and easy to complete and are just like you’d do with any other credit or debit card provider.

  • We'd like you to use your Glad card to pay for things like your monthly digital advertising, software subscriptions and web hosting.

Your Glad card will work anywhere that accepts VISA.

  • No.

You can use Glad with your existing bank account.

In fact, you can use it along side your existing payment cards too if you’d like. The more you pay with Glad, the more you contribute to the planet, so we’d encourage you to pay with Glad as much as possible to maximise your impact.

“We are the first generation to feel the effect of climate change and the last generation who can do something about it.

— Barack Obama, Former US President
